Summer Celebration Series

Local: Music, Food, Drinks and More!

Our annual Summer Celebration Series has an electrifying series of events for the entire family. Starting May 2 with our inaugural First Thursday event and running all the way through August 1, this is the place to be for summer gatherings in Charlottesville. This year's lineup includes fun with live music, fireworks, food trucks, local beer and wine vendors and a host of outdoor games, so make time to stop by and enjoy our summertime vibes. 

MEMORIAL DAY & JULY 4 FIREWORKS
The skies light up twice during Summer Celebration Series, and everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair and celebrate summer! On the Sunday of Memorial Day and Independence Day weekends,an electrifying fireworks show will reflect off the waters of Heritage Lake. Bring a lawn chair and an appetite for fun because we'll be serving up live music, age-appropriate drinks and local food from some of C'ville's finest mobile food vendors. There will be an entry fee for our July 4 fireworks, and we'll have Charlottesville's finest festivities to celebrate the evening. 

WEATHER
Most events are held outdoors on the green with beautiful views of Heritage Lake. Inclement weather updates will be posted on our Facebook page.

PARKING AND LOCATION
Events will take place on The Green. Look for the giant, white circus-style tent located behind the spa. There is free parking and our food and beverage team will have options for light fare and and drinks appropriate for adults and children. Each event will also have mouth-watering mobile fare featuring some of C'ville's finest food trucks. Outside food and beverage are not permitted. As always, we welcome leashed pets and encourage guests to bring a lawn chair or outdoor blanket.

Independence Day

Live music, lawn games and your favorite beverage in hand! Thursday, July 4 is our Independence Day celebration. Fireworks will light up the sky at dusk. Food trucks will be on site serving up some of Charlottesville’s finest mobile fare. An entry fee will be charged.

First Thursdays

Our First Thursdays events provide complimentary live music, kids' activities and games on The Green. This event is open to the public, so come out and enjoy the festivities!

Dazzling Fireworks

Don't miss the dazzling display of Fireworks over Heritage Lake throughout our Summer Celebration Series. Our fireworks shows will light up the skies on the Sunday of Memorial Day and on Independence Day.

Memorial Day fireworks show is complimentary admission and open to the public, there will be a fee charged for Independence Day fireworks. Bring your own lawn chair and enjoy a host of local food and beverage vendors while enjoying live music before the show. 

First Thursdays

Enjoy the outdoor celebrations the first Thursday of each month, starting May 2 through August 31, for a live performance on The Green located just behind the Boar's Head Spa. Bring an outdoor blanket or your favorite lawn chairs and rock the night away.

Each First Thursday event will feature a local beer and wine vendor, live music and some of Charlottesville finest mobile food fare.

Food Truck

There will be tasty food trucks available during most events. It's Poppin' Time, Farmacy and Vision BBQ are three of Charlottesville's finest mobile food vendors and will be making appearances throughout the Summer Celebration Series.

Pool Parties & Dive-In Movies

Jump into the fun at our member-only pool parties and dive-in movies at The Sports Club Aquatic Center. We'll have a D.J. playing popular tunes and activities will be available for the kids. The New Aqua Food & Drink will be open to include featured food and drink specials.

All pool parties are reserved exclusively for hotel guests and members.

Trivia Night

Join us every Wednesday April-October at 6 p.m. at Birdwood Grill for Trivia Night. Come for your chance to win and enjoy some of the best views in Charlottesville! Trivia Nights are open to the public, members and resort guests.
